Single, taken, bitter? Students, employees wore their colors
VALENTINE’S DAY COLOR-CODING
IN last week’s Valentine’s Day, the Supreme Student Council of the Pangasinan State University (PSU)-Bayambang Campus suggested to fellow students, faculty members and staff to wear color-coded clothes depending on their relationship status.
“Let us have fun expressing our love status in life by wearing the designated color of where we stand in love relationships. Join the vibe because it is your chance to see if the person you are eyeing is free and single!,” the council said in a Facebook post.
The color-coding mechanics worked this way”
- If happily married wear white.
- If proudly in love or in a relationship wear red.
- If relationship is complicated, wear purple.
- If a nerd, who’d rather focus on studies, wear gray.
- If still waiting for someone, wear orange.
- If still in the in “friend zone”, wear pink.
- If single and ready to mingle, wear blue.
- If moving on from a relationship, wear yellow.
- If without boyfriend /girlfriend since birth, wear green.
- Students, faculty members, and school staff can don black to show they prioritize work before love
In Alaminos City, the legislative department also ordered the officials, officers and staff to wear the color to indicate status of their relationships.
Acting City Vice Mayor Michelle Segundera issued a dress code memorandum last Friday to “foster positive vibes in the workplace by providing some cheerful relief during the celebration of the day of hearts.”
In the memorandum, the recommended colors for attire corresponding to their status were: Red for taken; Black for taken for granted; Pink for strike everywhere; Green for solo for life; White for like a virgin; Brown for “pusong bato”; Gray for confused or undecided; Blue for obedient spouse or partner; Yellow for waiting since birth; Purple for “maraming mahal at maraming nagmamahal”; Polka Dots for “ang love ko, may love nang iba”; and Stripes for “lowbatt sa pag-ibig”.
Indeed, what a colorful day it was. (PIA Pangasinan/AMMB)
