COVID-19 cases in Pangasinan continue to decline

THERE was one fatality recorded for the period October 27 to November 2 as the average number of COVID cases in Pangasinan continued its decline.

Data from the Provincial Health Office (PHO) show that from a previous average of 193 cases, the number dropped to 184 cases or a 16 cases daily average from over a 19 cases daily seven-day average from October 27 to November 2.

On November 2 alone, only 11  new cases were registered while  28 new recoveries were logged.

Of the 184 recorded active cases, 158 were in towns and cities in Pangasinan and 26 others were in Dagupan City, the PHO reported.

With 26 cases, Dagupan is on top in the number of active cases, followed by San Carlos City (22), Bayambang (11), Malasiqui (9), Sta. Barbara (8), Binmaley, Calasiao, Mangatarem and Villasis (7 each), Asingan, Lingayen, Pozorrubio and Urdaneta City (6 each), Alaminos City, Manaoag and San Fabian (5 each), and San Nicolas and Urbiztondo (4 each).

Though the number of cases was noticeably decreasing, the new cases that were registered were severe and symptomatic and needed  to be confined in hospitals. No mild and a symptomatic cases was logged.

Of the 184 active cases, 28 were admitted in nine private hospitals and 56 were in 12 government hospitals.  No one was confined in LGU isolation facilities.

The government hospitals that admitted COVID-19 patients were Region 1 Medical Center  (27), Pangasinan Provincial Hospital (11), La Union Medical Center (1), Asingan Community Hospital (1), Bayambang District Hospital (4), Manaoag Community Hospital (1), Eastern Pangasinan District Hospital (11), Lingayen District Hospital (1), Mangatarem District  Hospital (4), Urdaneta District Hospital (1), Umingan Community Hospital (1) and Western Pangasinan  District Hospital (1). (Ahikam Pasion)
