THE provincial government restored the temporary total ban on the entry of pork and poultry from all provinces to Pangasinan.

Governor Ramon Guico III issued two executive orders implementing Executive Order Nos. 0195-2022 and 0196-2022 on Wednesday October 26, but was only made public by the Pangasinan Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO) on Friday afternoon, October 28.

E.O. 0195 sets a total temporary ban on live swine/pigs, and pork from the provinces of Bulacan, Tarlac, Pampanga, and Nueva Ecija until October 18 while E.O. 0196 implements a total ban on the entry of all ducks, quails, culls, and chicken layers in the province.

The two E.O.s were issued amid increasing cases of the African Swine Fever in the province and the recorded new cases of Avian Influenza subtype H5N1 in neighboring provinces Benguet, Tarlac, and Nueva Ecija.

The first ban on poultry products was issued on July 11 and lapsed on September 30. (Ahikam Pasion)
