San Jacinto NHS students test COVID positive
FIRST SCHOOL LOCKDOWN
FACE-to-face classes at the San Jacinto National High School were suspended for five days, after a student tested positive for COVID-19, and others experienced flu-like symptoms.
The lockdown was implemented from October 7 to October 11, to give way for disinfection, on the recommendation of Arlene Susan Casabar, the town’s municipal health officer.
“We also called for a class suspension so that we could check on students, and make sure they are being taken care of”, she added.
While only one student was confirmed to be COVID-19 positive, some students aged 12 to 17 years old have been experiencing symptoms.
A five-day monitoring for students was implemented, while the COVID-19 positive student was made to undergo a 14-day isolation.
While classes resumed on Wednesday, October 12, the school administration has doubled on monitoring its minimum public health standards.
Contact tracing is also being closely implemented. (Ahkam Pasion)
