THE Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) commended and congratulated Gov. Ramon Guico III on his designation as investment and promotions officer of Northern Luzon by the League of Governors of the Philippines (LCP).

Resolution No. 25-2022 authored by Third District Provincial Board Member Vici Ventanilla, manifested the provincial board’s appreciation of the distinction given by the league to the governor of Pangasinan who was tasked to promote foreign and a local investments in Northern Luzon, comprising Regions 1 and 2.

The SP said Gov. Guico’s designation will greatly contribute to the league’s objectives and aspirations through the promotion and development of potential foreign and domestic investments in local government units.

The objective of the LPP, according to Ventanilla, is in line with Gov. Guico’s vision to boost the economy and provide more employment opportunities to the people “through the convergence of all provinces  in the country.

Earlier, the SP passed a provincial ordinance that created the Pangasinan Investment, Promotions and Development Office tasked to promote the province as a haven of investments in the country.

In his inaugural address last June 29, Guico vowed to make Pangasinan as a new destination of investments as he eyed the development of economic zone, one each in the six congressional district of the province.

He already established an economic zone in his own town of Binalonan while he was mayor and later congressman of the fifth district of Pangasinan. (Leonardo Micua)
