DOH-CHD: Still no presidential E.O. to remove face masks

THE Department of Health–Center for Health Development Region 1 (DOH-CHD) urged the public to continue wearing face masks, since no presidential Executive Order defining voluntary removal of face masks in public places has been issued.

This, after authorities noticed an increasing number of individuals have begun removing face masks in public places.

Dr. Rheuel Bobis, Covid-19 focal person of the DOH-CHD1 said wearing of face masks in public places is still required, despite being fully vaccinated with booster shots.

The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) earlier recommended  on September 5 the non-mandatory wearing of face masks in public places.

Bobis said that the recommendation has not been officially approved.

Meanwhile,  DOH-CHD 1 expressed serious concerns about IATF’S recommendation.

“On the part of the department. (DOH), we are still recommending  the use of face mask, whether mandatory or voluntary because many infectious diseases , including COVD-19 can be prevented by way of  face masks,” Bobis said. (Leonardo Micua /Ahikam Pasion)
