Dagupan’s ‘Drive-thru” COVID-19 vaccination opens
FOR TODA MEMBERS
A COVID-19 vaccination drive-thru for jeepney and tricycle operators and drivers association (J-TODA) members in Dagupan City was launched on September 10, Saturday at the Dagupan City Transport Terminal along the de Venecia Highway in Barangay Poblacion Oeste.
The launch was led by City Mayor Belen Fernandez, and the City Health Office represented by Dr. Benjamin Bautista, head of the COVID-19 Vaccination Team.
Some 430 drivers and operators from twenty-nine J-TODAs in the city, took their jabs to express their full support and commitment to the city government’s campaign to have its residents take their double dose vaccines and booster shots.
The drivers also brought their families to be inoculated with COVID-19 vaccines.
Rexon de Vera, Dagupan City Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) deputy, said the participation of the drivers and operators indicated their positive response to the city hall’s call.
The local TODAs encourage the drivers and operators to get jabbed because their vaccine certification sill facilitate the renewal of the their membership.
“Marami na ang nag-apply para sa certification stickers”, De Vera said.
Bautista said the CHO also provides three kilos of rice to each vaccinated driver.
“This will help the vaccination coverage in the city. People are willing if they are given incentives”, said Bautista.
Mayor Belen Fernandez also lauded the combined efforts of the POSO, CHO, and the e-Konsulta, to ensure the success of the vaccination drive-thru. (Ahikam Pasion)
