Lingayen adopts four-day workweek for gov’t workers
EMPLOYEES and officials of the Lingayen municipal government will now enjoy four-day workweek starting July 11 this year but will still, however, be required to render a mandatory 40-hour workweek.
This was contained in an Executive Order No. 31, series of 2022 issued by Mayor Leopoldo Bataoil to enable a flexible work arrangements for all workers of Lingayen.
Section 1 of the EO mandates workers from 14 offices to adopt comprehensive workweek that will require usual 40 hours workweek for five days to be compressed into four days from Monday to Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 12 noon and from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Covered by the EO are offices of the Municipal Mayor, Sangguniang Bayan, Municipal Administrator, Human Resources and Management, Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator, Municipal Budget, Municipal Accounting, Municipal Information and Municipal Tourism.
On the other hand, five offices – Municipal Registrar, Municipal Treasurer, Municipal Assessor and Municipal Social Welfare and Development – will adopt a combination of compressed workweek and skeleton work forces that will render work from Mondays to Fridays from 7:00 a.m. to 12 noon, and from 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
However, a skeletal workforce will render work on Mondays and Friday’s as scheduled by the Department Head and provided further that officials and employees of the offices should render 40 working hours a week.
The EO also directs three offices – RHU 1, RHU II and RHU III – to observe the regular weekly hours from Mondays to Friday’s from 8:00 a.m. to 12 noon and from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m..
Four other offices will observe regular office/fields work schedule:
- Market and Slaughterhouse: Mondays to Sundays;
- MDRRMC: 24/7 operations as mandated by law;
- MENRO: Cleaners in market, streets and plaza to maintain cleanliness daily 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.; Collect garbage from public market, major roads and bay walk, daily. (Leonardo Micua)
