Cases in Pangasinan still lower this year

SO far, dengue cases in Pangasinan are 72 % lower compared to last year’s.

This was bared by Provincial Health Office’s (PHO) data culled from Pangasinan Sentinel Hospitals-government hospitals, private hospitals and the Region 1 Medical Center in Dagupan City.

From January to July 18 this year, there were only 736 dengue cases and two deaths so far compared to 2,652 cases and two deaths lower the same period last year.

The two deaths recorded this year were a 41-year-old male in San Quintin town who died July 11 at the Eastern Pangasinan District Hospital in Tayug and a 56-year old male who died at the Urdaneta District Hospital on April 10, 2022.

San Carlos City, with 67 cases, is on top of the municipalities/cities in PHO’s top 10 watch list for dengue. Others are Malasiqui (54), Sta. Barbara (47), Calasiao (43), Lingayen (43), San Carlos City (41), Dasol (36), Urdaneta City (28) and Villasis (26).
