MORE MEN COMMITING SUICIDE

THE Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPPO) shared this sad news: There were already 42 suicide cases in the province since January this year to date.

P/Major Katelyn Awingan, spokesperson for the Pangasinan PPO, cited the number since January 2022 up until May 25, that out of the 42 suicide cases in the province, 40 cases involve men.

“The increase in suicide cases in our province is alarming”, said Awingan.

She said investigations showed that the suicide cases were mostly triggered by persons who felt jilted in their love affairs or suffering from complications in family problems during the pandemic period.

The PPPO, alarmed by the staggering number of suicide cases, has intensified its information drive to instill public awareness on the importance of mental health and to end the stigma of mental health problem.
