INTENSE opposition from the North did not deter Vice President Leni Robredo from visiting Pangasinan, touted as a bailiwick of the Marcoses, to lead a set of activities on Sunday, January 30.

Robredo led the launching of a community hub in Alos National High School in Alaminos City, followed by the inspection of the swab cab that provides free antigen testing services to the public, at the Lingayen Municipal Plaza.

The Office of the Vice President (OVP) already installed numerous Community Learning Hubs to help learners in their studies with free access to gadgets, computers, and Internet.

Robredo also traveled to San Manuel town and Dagupan City for private engagements.

Meanwhile, the OVP’s swab cab tested 232 individual and only 14 tested positive.

“Sinimulan natin ito last year pa bilang pagtugon sa pangangailangan ng testing, lalo na sa free testing, lalo na sa mga lugar na mataas ‘yung incidence ng mga kaso”, said Robredo.

Individuals who tested positive in the antigen test were endorsed to their respective LGUs after providing them with home care pack containing vitamins and medicine for their recovery.

Among the provinces in the region, it is also the most vote-rich. 2016 election returns showed Pangasinan 832,711 votes were delivered for the Marcos scion.

Robredo, unfazed, trusts votes will be delivered come May 9.

In a dialogue with her supporters via Zoom on Thursday, January 27, Robredo revealed treading in the Marcoses’ “lair was well ‘worth it.” (Ahikam Pasion)
