THE rate of infection of COVID-19 cases have exhibited signs of a downward trend in Dagupan City and other highly-urbanized cities (HUCs) in Luzon, according to the OCTA Research Group.

In a tweet on Wednesday, OCTA Fellow Dr. Guido David said, Dagupan City can now be considered under ‘moderate risk’ from COVID-19 infection.

He said the average daily attack rate (ADAR) in the city as of Feb. 2 is now a 13.86.

David also noted that while the positivity rate is in ‘very high’ category which at 24 percent, the reproduction number, however, is deemed in a ‘very low’ category after it went down to 0.64.

He added that the healthcare utilization is already under ‘low’ category with 46 percent.

Aside from Dagupan City, other cities with COVID-19 downward trend include Baguio City, Lucena City, Naga City, Olongapo City, and Santiago City.

OCTA urged the public to remain compliant with health and safety protocols to prevent further transmission of the virus. (Jerick Pasiliao)
