EVER since Pangasinan was placed under Alert Level 3, 168 violators of health protocols in different towns were warned while 89 drivers of jeepneys and buses were issued Traffic Citation Tickets (CTCs) by police operations conducted on January 14-15.

This was reported by P/Lt. Colonel Ferdinand de Asis, deputy police provincial director for operations, to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan during its Question Hour on January 17.

De Asis said the violations were noted when police stations inspected and monitored commercial establishments, malls, public markets and public vehicles commuting passengers to see to the health protocols being strictly observed.

Speaking for P/Colonel Richmond Tadina, police provincial director, De Asis added that six quarantine checkpoints and seven tertiary checkpoints in provincial boundaries were put up to enforce the guidelines set by the provincial IATF that only vaccinated individuals can enter Pangasinan.

He said individuals traveling to Pangasinan are asked to present their vaccination cards and identification cards in compliance with the guidelines.

Meanwhile, he said some 300 persons were arrested by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) during a raid of a cockpit in Sta. Maria town last week because it had been operating without permits.

According to Sixth District Board Member Noel Bince, the individuals arrested in these operations, particularly the owner of the cockpit, were already charged in court and are out on bail. (Leonardo Micua)
