T g hey were flying and crashed in a fishpond in Sitio Paradise, Barangay Telbang in Alaminos City on Wednesday, December 15, at around 9 in the morning.

P/Colonel Richmond Tadina, acting provincial director of the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office (PPO) said Daryl Uy, from Pasig City, a pilot instructor of Fly Fast Aviation Academy, and his student, Caran Kaura, 21, from San Narciso town in Quezon Province, took off from the academy grounds in Lingayen at around 8:22 in the morning for an orientation flight.

Tadina said the plane had just taken off barely an hour when the flying school received the report that the plane had crashed.

Gerry Giron, a farmer in the barangay said he saw the plane flying erratically at low altitudes and it appeared trying to land at a nearby ditch  when it flipped to a pond next to it.

Kaura, with minor injuries, managed to get out of the plane before the plane burst into flames but Uy was pinned down in his seat. Giron said Uy was screaming for help but no one could help.

Kaura was rushed to the Western Pangasinan District Hospital for immediate treatment. He was eventually discharged as he only suffered minor injuries. He was eventually summoned to the Alaminos PNP to give his statement. He refused a media interview.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has dispatched a team to conduct an investigation to identify the reason behind the plane crash. (Ahikam Pasion)
