22 confirmed ‘Delta’ cases in Pangasinan recover

OUT of the 23 confirmed COVID-19 patients whose cases were detected to have the Delta variant belatedly, 22 have clinically recovered except for one who died.

This was confirmed by Dr. Anna de Guzman, Provincial Health Office (PHO) chief in an interview last Monday, as she clarified that two of the Delta variant cases were from Manila and Bulacan, the 21 other cases were infected via  local transmission.

Meanwhile, number of active COVID-19 cases in Pangasinan continue to decline with 3,750 active infections remaining but the 154 new COVID-19 cases recorded last Sunday, pushed the total number of infections logged in the province to 27,441.

The PHO also reported 4 new deaths last Sunday, bringing the total death toll to 883 patients.

Meanwhile, de Guzman urged the public anew to get vaccinated once jabs become available to them, and religiously adhere to the health and safety protocols to prevent the further transmission of COVID-19 in the community. (Jerick Pasiliao)
