Urdaneta shifts to General Community Quarantine

MAYOR Julio Parayno III has issued an executive order placing Urdaneta City under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) category from Aug. 27 to Sept. 9 due to surge in COVID-19 cases.

Parayno’s Executive Order No. 16-2021 urged the public to exercise discipline and comply with health protocols strictly to avoid a total lockdown in the city.

Among the new restrictions under GCQ are:

  1. Market schedule is from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. only.
  2. Curfew is from 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.
  3. No selling of liquor during curfew hours. Drinking liquor will only be allowed inside the house .
  4. Below 15 years old and persons with health risks are not allowed to go out.
  5. Gaming and amusement centers are not allowed to operate.
  6. Mass gatherings, i.e., parties, celebrations, seminars, meetings and conferences, etc. are prohibited.

Based on the Provincial Health Office’s monitoring report, Urdaneta City logged 118 active cases as of Aug. 25. (Eva Visperas)
