IN spite of the MGCQ status in Pangasinan, Dagupan City, the town of Manaoag and two other towns are still not open to travelers from the National Capital Region (NCR+) in a bid to further control the spread of COVID-19 in their areas.

Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office (PTCAO) chief Malu Elduayan said the towns of Manaoag, Baustista and Balungao are also still close to tourists from the NCR.

Elduayan said the decision to close their borders to NCR residents is a discretion of the their governments who know the real situation of COVID-19 in their localities.

Meanwhile, Elduayan said accommodation establishments in other towns and cities have been receiving  bookings and reservations indicating expected arrivals of visitors from outside the province.

She said travelers from the NCR+ planning to visit the province must register at pangasinan.tarana.ph website and submit a negative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test result and an identification card.

Prospective travelers must register at least two to three days before their dates of planned trip to Pangasinan.

“After accomplishing the registration form, they will receive a quick response (QR) code that will be presented at the border control checkpoint to be able to enter the province,” she said.

Travelers are also encouraged to register at the s-pass.ph website for travel coordination permits to their point of destination.

She clarified that visitors not coming from NCR plus bubble must still register on the two  websites but will not be required to attach a negative result of the RT-PCT test. (Jerick Pasiliao)
