Espino: Scrutiny of travelers from NCR+ to Pangasinan stays
TRAVELERS from the National Capital Region plus bubble (Cavite, Laguna, Rizal and Bulacan) entering Pangasinan will continue to be strictly scrutinized at the border checkpoints for as long as the NCR+ remains under the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ).
This was reiterated by Gov. Amado Espino III in his Letter Circular No. 20021-0078 dated 29 April 2021 addressed to all city and municipal mayors and all national government agencies based in the province.
Gov. Espino issued the letter circular in anticipation of the surge of travels to Pangasinan during the rest of the summer season starting last May 1 to 2.
However, Gov. Espino clarified that Authorized Persons Outside of Residence or APORs and food cargoes will remain unhampered provided crew can present proper identification and documentation of cargo.
The letter circular effectively responded to the queries of two provincial board members—Jeremy Agerico Rosario and Noel Bince—why border checkpoints are not complying with the Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) status of Pangasinan that lifted the requirements for travel permit as well as health certificate promulgated by the national Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infection Diseases (IATF-EID).
BM Rosario earlier observed that the border checkpoints in the province were requiring incoming travelers to prove that their travels are essential. (Leonardo Micua)
