In the opening frame, a series of scoring runs unwrapped when Alfred Sedillo set the tone for Manila with his early nine-point spurt but these were quickly repulsed by Ralph Robin’s two consecutive triples to give the first lead to Pangasinan, 25-24.

Reeling-off to the second period, Jay Collado powered the Heatwaves’ offense through his paint points accompanied by JP Maguliano’s mid-range connections for Pangasinan to sustain the advantage heading to the half, 42-34.

Underway in the third period, Batang Quiapo tried to orchestrate plays to creep back in the game,  courtesy of Sedillo and Stephen Torralba with 10 combined points. However, the Heatwaves held on the momentum and continued to fire in all cylinders. Maguliano, Robin, and Laurenz Victoria scored six points apiece to stretch Pangasinan’s lead by a large margin, 85-59.

The Heatwaves surged ahead in the fourth, dominating in shot efficiency with 63% field goal shooting against the 17% of Batang Quiapo to seal the game.

Pangasinan rode on the 19-point output of Maguliano alongside his five boards and three assists, plus the offensive contributions of Jorey Napoles and Robin with 15 points each.

Meanwhile, Manila posted a team-high 23 points from Sedillo followed by the 15-point effort of Redgimir Eusebio.
