THE Sangguniang Panlalawigan passed two resolutions commending and congratulating Pangasinense athletes Jamela Gonzales Prestoza of Pozorrubio and Edwin Villanueva Advincula of Binalonan for their achievements in the 2nd ASEAN Deaf Games held in Jakarta, Indonesia, from August 20–26, 2025.

In Provincial Resolution No. 125-2025, the provincial board lauded Prestoza for clinching two bronze medals in the Women’s Singles and Women’s Doubles Table Tennis events. Apart from being an accomplished athlete, she also serves as a coach and mentor, inspiring young players in the province.

Meanwhile, Provincial Resolution No. 126-2025 recognized Advincula for securing bronze medals in the Men’s Singles and Men’s Doubles Table Tennis events. Like Prestoza, Advincula has also dedicated himself to training aspiring athletes and promoting inclusivity in sports.

Both resolutions highlighted the athletes’ outstanding sportsmanship, skill, and resilience, which brought pride and honor not only to their hometowns but also to Pangasinan and the entire country.

The provincial board also acknowledged the support of Governor Ramon “Mon-Mon” Guico III in championing programs that help Pangasinense athletes excel on the national and international stage.

Copies of the resolutions, both authored by Fifth District Board Member Nicholi Jan Louie Sison, will be furnished to Prestoza and Advincula in recognition of their contributions and victories that uplift the name of Pangasinan in international sports. (Eva Visperas)
