Lingayen to host Tour of Luzon 2025 final pit stop
PANGASINAN’S capital town Lingayen will be the penultimate site of the 2025 Tour of Luzon, the country’s biggest cycling event, which is returning this year since it was last held in 2019 under the name Le Tour de Filipinas.
The race reels off on April 24 to May 1, with the arrival in Lingayen set on April 2
Philippine teams will be joined by national contingents from Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Thailand.
This year’s race, dubbed the “Great Revival of the Tour of Luzon” where at least 15 teams are expected to compete, will have eight stages, passing through six scenic provinces in Luzon.
Participating cyclists will cover about 1,050 kilometers, with stage one blasting a 170-km out-and-back route via Pagudpud from Laoag City in Ilocos Norte. The other stages are:
(Stage 2): from Laoag City to Vigan City, (3): from Vigan City to Agoo, La Union, (4): from Agoo to Clark, Pampanga, (5): From Clark (SCTEX) to Capas Tarlac, (6): From Capas to Lingayen, (7): 30-kilometer short pedal within central Lingayen.
The eighth and final stage will be a 180-km uphill battle from Lingayen to Camp John Hay in Baguio City.
The Tour of Luzon was first held in 1955 until 1998, then revived in 2002 up to 2007. Its name was changed to Le Tour de Filipinas from 2009 to 2019. (Ahikam Pasion)
