LOCAL young talents and seasoned swatters saw action during the inaugural Alaminos City Table Tennis Cup held November 23-24 at the Alaminos City Sports Complex.

Sanctioned by the Federation of Table Tennis Clubs in Pangasinan (FTTCP), the tournament, clustered into seven categories, was joined by 100 table tennis players from Pangasinan

Among the winners of the two-day event were Jovito Corpuz (Champion, U17 Boys Singles), Yana Balasican (Champion, U17 Girl Singles, Open Women’s Singles), Kenny Castro (Champion, Open Men’s Singles), Lingayen CEPATTA (Champion, Team Event), Pangasinan East Team B (Champion, Women’s Team Event), and Fernando Romero (Champion, 50 YO Exclusive).

Tournament directors Kang Gubatan and Rey Soriano said the event was held to foster a vibrant sports culture within the community and provide opportunities for amateur athletes to develop their skills.

“We’re glad to give the spotlight for local table tennis enthusiasts who enjoyed the game, build a healthy competition, and promote the sport in the community,” said Gubatan. (Kim Gealogo)
