Dagupan’s Team Chinoy wins anew in Master’s Bowling League
TEAM Chinoy, composed of Mike Sim, Owen Fernandez, JJ Co and Marlon Calimlim, bagged the championship in the Season 2 of Masters Team League Bowling Tournament held for five consecutive weeks that ended last September 8 at the CSI the City Mall Bowling Center in Dagupan City.
Carding an overall score of 16,073 in six games, it was the second championship garnered by Team Chinoy after lording over in Season 1 of the tournament in the same venue.
The champion team also produced the highest handicap individual score which was earned by Owen Fernandez but Mike Sim got the highest series scratch.
Team Hustler, composed of Bien Visperas, Fernando Dumpit, Clem Salazar and Carlos Sibuma, was the first runner-up with an overall score of 15,177, winning by just the skin of its teeth over Team Chinoy in one game.
Team Semilya, composed of Zedy Cruz, Arnold Padlan and Russell Santiago, posted 15,097 points to place second-runner-up, while the foursome of Gerick Sarito, Roger Sarito, Aldrin. Soriano and Joel Menses in Team Kapamilya bagged the third runner-up honor with an over-all score of 15,031.
The other entries were Team International composed of Charles Hamilton, Sonny Garcia, Art Menor and Mark John Caronongan, scored 14,993 and placed fifth while the Team Cea Striker got 14,667 points and was the cellar-dweller. (Leonardo Micua)
