VMUF athletic team shines in National PRISAA

THE Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation athletics club displayed its cinder path dominance when its sprinters harvested 11 gold, three silver, and three bronze medals during the track and field events of the National Private School Athletic Association (PRISAA) Games on July 22-24, 2024 at the Bicol University Oval in Legazpi City, Albay.

The team’s gold medalists were: Shane Carolino (Women’s 400m hurdles and 400m run), Kent Brian Celeste (Men’s triple jump, high jump, and long jump), Guhan Garcia (Men’s 200 and 400m run), Manry Manzano (Boy’s 200m run) and Cristalyn Addalino (Women’s high jump).

Despite the heavy rains, Kent Brian Celeste had set his personal best in the Men’s long jump category with 6.90 meters to outclass other 17 participating regions.

On the other hand, the team’s silver medalists are Manry Manzano (Boy’s 100-meter run), Daniela Peralta (Girl’s 200m run), and Renier (Men’s 100-meter dash).

VMUF’s bronze medalists were Venus Macaraeg (long jump girls), Renier Ranges (200m run), Richard Bravo (men’s 10 km walk), and Jane Krissel Buizon (women’s 5,000 km walk).

Their mentor, VMUF Athletics head coach Dante Camaso underscored the team’s preparation prior to the competition as centered on rigorous body conditioning and mental readiness to focus in their respective matches. (Kim Gealogo)
