Pangasinan routs Mindoro, 81-62, grabs 4th win in MPBL

THE Pangasinan Heatwaves trounced the Mindoro Tamaraws in a dominating fashion, 81-62, enroute to its fourth win in the 6th MPBL Season last June 11 at the FPJ Arena in San Jose, Batangas.

The Heatwaves banked on their hot-shooting night from behind the arc, sinking 5-out-of-5 from the three-point territory early on the first quarter.

Ralph Robin splashed three consecutive triples reinforced by Ian Melecio’s mid-ranged jumpers for Pangasinan to mount an early hefty lead, 30-11.

JayJay Caspe picked up the scoring slack for Mindoro, tallying nine points with perimeter pull-ups and layups to threaten but Ed Daquioag netted his third three-pointer of the game to maintain Pangasinan’s  huge lead at the halftime, 50-32.

Pangasinan sustained its incendiary shooting performance during the second half and preserved its sizeable advantage to seal the victory.

The Heatwaves manufactured 21 points from Ralph Robin with a game-high five triples, Ian Melencio added 12 points, four rebounds, and eight assists alongside Ed Daquioag’s 10-point production

Mindoro got 17 points, three boards, and four assists from Ken Bono followed by JayJay Caspe who scored 11 points, four rebounds, and three assists.

Pangasinan has climbed to the eleventh spot in the Northern Division standings of the 6th MPBL season with 4-8 win-loss card. (Kim Gealogo)
