4th Ittong Football Cup lists winners
THE 4th Ittong Football Cup reeled-off at the Pozorrubio Sport Complex last June 1-2 saw the participation of 36 football clubs from Pampanga, Tarlac, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur and Pangasinan.
The featured categories in the two-day invitational kickfest were Men’s Open, Women’s Open, U17 Boys and Girls, U12 Boys and Girls, and U10 Mixed.
The winners were: ICON Pampanga (Men’s Open and U17 Boys), Pozorrubio FC (Women’s Open, U17 Girls and U12 Boys), Manaoag FC (U12 Girls), and Mangatarem FC (U10 Mixed).
Organized by the Pangasinan Football Association, the Ittong Cup is named after “Ittong Academy Football Club” founded by Pangasinan football coaches Romelyn Fontanilla and Victoriano Jugo.
According to Jugo, the football tourney aims to help grassroots players showcase their talents and forge their skills by competing against top local teams in Northern and Central Luzon.
“As an avenue to develop the football skills of young athletes in Pangasinan, the Ittong Cup also serves as a bootcamp for scouting and building potential players who have the potential to compete in both regional and national leagues”, Jugo added. (Kim Gealogo)
