Urbiztondo cyclist to represent Pangasinan

RONYL Erguiza, a Grade 12 student at the Urbiztondo National High School, emerged victorious in the dirt road cycling competition during the Batang Pinoy 2023’s Provincial Cycling Qualifiers.
The qualifying event for the Age Group 16-17 category took place on October 22, 2023, at Maramba Boulevard, Lingayen, Pangasinan.
Seventeen-year-old Erguiza, from Barangay Duplac, Urbiztondo, is under the guidance of Coach Christopher Peralta. Coach Peralta said “Ronyl’s journey from being a local champion to a national hopeful is a testament to his consistency and dedication to the sport.”
In the qualifying event, Erguiza showcased his pedaling prowess, surpassing 94 cyclists in the province. His preparation for the tryouts involved repeated runs and extended practice sessions.
As he prepares to represent Pangasinan on the national stage, Erguiza is committed to dedicated training with the aim of securing a podium finish in the upcoming Batang Pinoy 2023. (Kim Gealogo)
