The PCUBL’s men’s senior division featured 11 teams from different college teams nationwide, including Philippine Christian University, Electron College of Technical Education, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Pasig, Don Honorio Ventura State University – Pampanga, University of Makati, College of St. Catherine Quezon City, Asian Institute of Maritime Studies, Philippine College of Criminology – Manila, Eastern Samar State University, Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation – Lucena, and the University of Luzon.

However, in the league’s double-header opener, AIMS Mariners secured a dominant victory over the UL Golden Tigers with a score of 112-79, while Electron College defeated the ESSU Green Mantis with a score of 72-59.

PCUBL president Jayson Delos Santos said he wants the league to become a “mainstream platform, much like the UAAP and NCAA, showcasing the basketball skills of promising university and collegiate talents, raising their profiles within the basketball community.”
