Dagupan’s Barredo earns slot in RP Youth Pool

BOWLING prodigy Antonio Luis Tabayoyong Barredo of Dagupan City won a slot in the RP Youth Pool when he ranked 11th among 32 qualifiers during the combined tryouts for the RP National Training Pool and the RP Youth Pool held December 8 to 11 at the Coronado Lanes, Star Mall at EDSA in Mandaluyong City.

The RP Youth Pool is  composed of 25 boys, seven girls and three boy alternates.

The announcement on who will comprise the RP Youth Pool was made only on February 1, 2023.

Barredo, grandson of Dr. Romulo Tabayoyong of Laoac town and Dagupan City, was fourth in the list of RP Youth Pool for boys. Playing eight games per day for four days, Barredo carded 5925 or an average of 185.16 per day for him to earn a  slot in the RP Youth Pool.

He was the youth champion in the Collegiate Division in the PBF Youth Annuals 2022 participated in by 15 qualifiers held December 6 to 30 at E-Lanes Bowling Center in Ortigas Avenue, Quezon City.

In that bowling tournament, his team SLETBA. beat nine teams to win the NYC Team Event Championship. He shared the honor with his teammates Art Barrientos and Marc Custodio. (Leonardo Micua)
