Villaflor golf classic XIII set today

To celebrate its 25th anniversary, the Dagupan Doctors Villaflor Memorial Hospital ((DDVMH) will host today September 24 the “Barkadahan Golf tournament”, the longest running local golf tour at the Dagupan Golf Course.
Tee off time is set from 6:00 to 8:00 am. Golfers in Pangasinan and from adjacent provinces are expected to join this major tournament.
Dr. Juvy Villaflor, the golfing doctor-son of Drs. Viven and Nene Villaflor, announced that a brand new car will be at stake, hole-in-one.
Dr. Gene Torres is closely coordinating with sponsors to ensure the successful staging of the tour.
Meanwhile, Dr. Benedict Bernal, an ophthalmologist, copped the 2006 Dagupan Golf Match play held from July to September with a dramatic finish over Dr. Toto Juan of Virgen Milagrosa University. They were tied after 18 holes of regulation play but prevailed in the 18th hole playoff when Dr. Juan drove his ball in the thick rough while Dr. Bernal leisurely sank his bogey putt.
Third place went to another doctor, Dr. Gene Torres who won over his opponents with much intimidation. Dennis Canto got the 4th place.
The match play was sponsored by the Dagupan Golf and Beach Club headed by Dr. Rod Segui who handed trophies and cash prizes to the winners.
In the President’s Order of Merit, leading the honor roll are Ed Sorio, 73 points, Benedict Bernal, 61 pts, Rod Segui, 51 pts, Arnold Lioanag, 46 pts and Ernie Dispo, 46 pts. Final ranking will be known after the President’s Cup which will be held in December this year.
