UNLISERBISYO

THE Sangguniang Panlungsod, on January 6, held a committee hearing to discuss solutions to traffic congestion caused by fish trucks loading and unloading in front of City Plaza. Mayor Belen Fernandez attended the hearing led by Peace and Order Committee Chair Councilor Chito Samson, along with several councilors, city officials, and consignees from Magsaysay Market.

Among the proposals discussed was designating the open area near the docking station in Babaliwan, beside the former NBI office along A.B. Fernandez Avenue, as an official loading and unloading zone. Fernandez called for a long-term, total approach that will ease traffic while sustaining the city’s bangus industry. The city government continues to study a more orderly market system, stressing discipline and cooperation among all sectors.
