MAYOR Belen T. Fernandez expressed full support for the Children’s Month celebration organized by the United Methodist Church at the Dagupan City People’s Astrodome on Saturday, November 15. The event, held under the theme “With Jesus, I Belong,” highlighted joy, fellowship, and the recognition of children as vital members of the community.

Mayor Fernandez underscored the importance of the church’s role in guiding the youth, particularly in strengthening their faith and encouraging them to serve their communities. She said such gatherings help instill values that shape responsible and compassionate future leaders.

DAGUPAN CONTINUES TO DELIVER HELP

DAGUPAN City sustained its relief operations for families hit hard by Super Typhoon “Uwan,” as Mayor Belen T. Fernandez led the latest round of food pack distributions from the Department of Social Welfare and Development. The effort, aligned with the national government’s “Walang Gutom” program, came through the prompt support of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian to ensure affected households meet their basic needs.

Working closely with barangay councils, the city distributed family food packs in Bonuan Binloc, Pogo Chico, Barangay I, Lasip Grande, and Malued on Friday, November 14. Mayor Fernandez said the sustained rollout underscores the city’s commitment to help residents recover quickly and restore stability in communities still reeling from the typhoon’s impact.

DOH AID DELIVERED TO RESIDENTS

RELIEF assistance from the Department of Health (DOH) Region I continued to arrive in Dagupan, with the city receiving another batch of supplies on Friday, November 14. The DOH turned over jerrycans and utility pails containing hygiene kits for 200 affected families to help strengthen household preparedness in times of calamity. The City Health Office also received 30 boxes of Doxycycline for distribution in flooded barangays to prevent the spread of leptospirosis.

Mayor Belen T. Fernandez extended the city’s gratitude to President Bongbong Marcos and DOH Region I, led by Regional Director Dr. Paula Paz Sydiongco, who personally delivered the assistance. She was joined by Provincial Team Leader Veronica de Guzman, Dr. Amadeo Zarate of DOH-CHD, and City Health Officer Dr. Jo de Venecia during the turnover.
