Dagupan opens Astrodome as preemptive measure ahead of the typhoon

In a proactive response to the impending threat of Typhoon Uwan, approximately 50 families, comprising 185 individuals from Barangay Lasip Grande, have been safely relocated to the Dagupan City Peoples Astrodome. The local government, with Vice Mayor BK Kua actively involved in monitoring the situation, has designated the Astrodome as a primary evacuation center to ensure the safety of residents in vulnerable areas.
The Astrodome is one of several public facilities designated to serve as evacuation centers. In coordination with city officials, multiple local schools and other public buildings have also been placed on standby and are prepared to house early evacuees from other flood-prone communities. This coordinated effort aims to ensure the safety of residents and streamline the delivery of essential services as the city braces for the potential impact of the severe weather.

Dagupan declares State of Calamity ahead of Typhoon Uwan
November 10, 2025. Dagupan City declared a State of Calamity in preparation for Super Typhoon Uwan. The City Council announced the measure during an emergency session conducted via zoom, which allows for the immediate release of emergency funds and the fast-tracking of critical relief operations.
The Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) quickly coordinated with city departments to enact a unified response. This swift, proactive action ensured the immediate readiness of evacuation centers, the ongoing preemptive evacuations, and the continuous operation of essential services. Authorities urge residents to cooperate fully as the local government manages the crisis.

Dagupan LGU, national agencies ramp up Typhoon Uwan relief
November 12, 2025. The City Government of Dagupan, under the leadership of Mayor Belen T. Fernandez, in close coordination with the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP), the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and national government agencies, is conducting a systematic relief operation for residents affected by Typhoon Uwan. The initiative, pictured here in Barangay Lucao, ensures the orderly and proper distribution of essential goods to heavily impacted Dagupenos, prioritizing families in the most vulnerable situations.
The relief drive is part of a city-wide effort to reach all affected communities. Operations have already extended to barangays, including Bonuan Gueset, Bonuan Tondaligan, Bonuan Binloc, Herrero-Perez, Pogo Chico, Lasip Grande, Lasip Chico, Poblacion Oeste, Pugaro, Lucao, Malued, Salapingao, Barangay Dos-Tres, and Barangay Kwatro, and Mayombo. The Dagupan LGU has committed to visiting and providing necessary aid to all affected areas in the city to support recovery efforts.
