
BE A BREASTFRIEND: FREE BREAST SCREENING SERVICES, NOW IN DAGUPAN!

TO prevent the risk of breast cancer, women aged 30-65 years old should avail of free breast cancer screening services and Cervical Cancer Screening with the Dagupan City government and the Department of Health Ilocos Center for Health Development. Cancer Screening services include: Clinical Breast Examination, Cervical Cancer Screening – Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA), lecture on breast and cervical cancer, cancer medical assistance program and free medical consultation.
“Habang ang gobyerno ay bukas at tumutulong sa inyo, tanggapin natin lahat ng tulong na ito… Dahil nais natin na umpisa pa lamang ay walang maging sakit ang ating mga nanay, mga kababaihan sa siyudad. Ito po ang isinusulong natin kasabay ng selebrasyon ng National Women’s Month,” she said.
DOH-CHD Program Manager Cheska de Vera, Dr. Amadeo Zarate, R1MC Cancer Center In-Charge Adrian Villanueva and City Health Office led by Dr. Ophelia Rivera are overseeing the services of the program.

THE Department of Education Regional Office I, represented by Asst. DAGUPAN CELEBRATES NATIONAL WOMEN’S MONTH 2025
THIS 2025 National Women’s Month was celebrated by women of all sectors, and recognized their strengths and roles through the Women’s Summit, in coordination with the Justice Zone, held at CSI Stadia on March 13. Dubbed as, “Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas,” the summit serves as an association for Dagupeñas, emphasizing the rights women have, as they play a pivotal role in the society.
In her welcome remarks, City Legal Officer Atty. Aurora Valle underscored women’s empowerment and their contribution to the community such as in education, health, agriculture, business, government and even at home.
Mayor Fernandez highlighted the city’s commitment to implementing programs that uplift the lives of women, ensuring that no one is left behind. “Bilang Ina ng Dagupan, patuloy akong naninindigan sa pagbibigay ng sapat na oportunidad at proteksyon sa lahat ng kababaihan – upang higit nilang magampanan ang kanilang papel sa pag-aangat ng ating lungsod at ng buong bansa,” said the mayor.
