SIGNING of the Memorandum of Partnership between the City Government of Dagupan, represented by Mayor Belen Fernandez, and the Philippine Mental Health Association (PMHA) Pangasinan Chapter, led by MR. Michael Romero (PMHA Manager). The partnership aims to further promote the mental well-being of Dagupeños, fostering a healthier and more resilient community in Dagupan City, thus creating a supportive and inclusive environment where mental health is given the attention and care it deserves.

WORK FOR MOTHER-CHILD ZERO MORTALITY RATE
THE city’s goal for a zero mortality rate is discussed with the midwives and barangay health workers (BHW) in response to the call to reduce or eliminate maternal and child mortality in our city. Masakit po sa akin na marinig ang balita na may mamamatay na sanggol at ina mula sa panganganak, Mayor Belen Fernandez told her audience. Sa pagpapatayo ng Mother and Child Hospital, wala nang pamilyang maiiwan ng isang ina, wala nang mamamatay na bata dahil sa sakit nang hindi nagpapagamot o nagpapakonsulta, she added.
She said the Mayor’s office thru the CSWD, CHO, Nutrition Office will help in every way like it was done in “Unaen su Mairap Bilay” Program. “We are encouraging our midwives to regularly monitor all pregnant women and implement postpartum checkups and monitoring. We will increase our services with the help of our barangay volunteers to saturate all households through our ‘home visits’. She cited how the city’s BHWs are more empowered with the increase in their allowance, motivating them to bring more of their services to the barangays. “Ayaw ko po mahinto ang serbisyo para sa mahihirap,” the mayor said.
