MAYOR Belen Fernandez leads the distribution of relief supplies to families affected by typhoon “Kristine” in Barangay Lucao on November 7, together with Vice Mayor BK Kua, Councilor Michael Fernandez and Lucao Barangay Council led by Liga ng mga Barangay President Councilor Marcelino Fernandez.  Meanwhile, the city government continues to be on on alert in anticipation of the impact of Typhoon #MarcePh (Yinxing). MBTF LEADS CHILDREN’S SUMMIT 2024 CHAMPIONING CHILDREN’S RIGHTS

IN celebration of the 32nd Children’s Month, Dagupan City Mayor Belen Fernandez leads the opening of the Children’s Summit 2024 promoting children’s rights with the theme “Break the Prevalence, End the Violence: Protecting Children, Creating a Safe Philippines” on November 6, at the Jimmy L. Fernandez Center (CSI Stadia). She, through a girl scout, cited the city’s projects and contributions centered on children’s rights. “Dagupan has been recognized as the country’s Most Child-Friendly City on many occasions because we have been continuously implementing policies, programs, projects and activities that promote and protect children’s rights…” the mayor shared through her speech. Vice Mayor Bryan Kua also urged the audience: “Open your hearts and minds. Listen carefully and unite as we make a safer place for all.” the vice mayor said. UNITY WALK FOR CHILDREN’S RIGHTS

THOUSANDS of youth and child rights advocates gathered and marched to the call to action promoting and protecting children’s rights in observance of the 32nd National Children’s Month this November with the theme “Break the Prevalence, End the Violence: Protecting Children, Creating a Safe Philippines”. Following the Children’s Summit anchored on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) last February 2024, Dagupan City partners anew with the Department of Education with another summit for children focused on children’s rights to health, education, protection and children’s opportunities in life. National government agencies and Dagupan LGU employees, public and private schools, barangay councils, volunteers, representatives from various civil society organizations, and major product sponsors joined the Unity Walk on November 6 from the Dagupan City Transport Terminal to the CSI Stadia followed by the MOA signing and ribbon cutting of the main exhibit and children’s rights booths.
