Pangasinan Brotherhood-USA pays tribute to kabaleyans
PANGASINAN Brotherhood-USA President Sue Ann-Tumakay paid tribute to her fellow provincemates for their collective spirit and unwavering dedication that defined Pangasinan community.
Citing her colleagues for their positive values during a gala night last week, she said the PB-USA is a testament to the enduring legacy and steadfast spirit of Pangasinenses living in the Golden State.
The lady president pledged to uphold the noble mission and vision of the association as set forth by the founders led by late Ambassador and LA Consul General Armando Fernandez of Dagupan City way back in 1978.
Board Chairperson Ellen Rodriguez-Swing committed to advance the mission of the association by providing opportunities for personal growth, foster friendship and promote and preserve the uniqiue culture and traditions of Pangasinan.
“Together, we will continue to work for the prosperity and betterment of our community”, Rodriguez-Swing said.
According Dan Estabillo Nino, outgoing chairman of the board and the association’s public relations officer the well-attended event saw two ladies being sworn-in as president and chairman of the 46-year old association.
Among other highlights of the event were the presentation of Award of Excellence led by Nino for his achievement as journalist, Eddie C Ferrer for his custom brokerage business and Los Angeles City Controller Kenneth Mejia who traced his roots from Mangatarem and Bayambang.
Nino said that the appearance of Emeben Baysic Vales who played the role of Miss Saigon stole the show. She sang a medley of Broadway hit songs. She was a former Miss San Carlenian and Mis PB-USA circa 1990-1992.
Daughter of Emerita and the late Benjamin Baysic, Emeben was also presented Award of Exellence as a world class talent and outstanding Pangasinense in the field of musical theater. (Leonardo J Galvez, US Correspondent)
