THE city’s ongoing flood mitigation project in Sitio Calarin & Tranquilinio-Siapno Rd. Brgy. Malued going to Old De Venecia is expected to provide an effective access road, even during high tide or heavy rainfall. Mayor Belen T. Fernandez and City Engr. Josephine Corpuz conducted an onsite inspection on May 31, to make sure that the project specifications are strictly followed, and that there will be no delay.
The mayor said 24 road projects for this year are already being lined up, while some of the “much needed” infrastructure projects await the budget approval of the 7 majority councilors in the Sangguniang Panlungsod. Mayor Fernandez also shared that part of the flood mitigation program is the “Operation Sitio”, a bayanihan project that helps residents in building a road and drainage system that will eventually connect to the elevated roads. PRENATAL CARE UNDER ALAGANG HEALTHY DAGUPEÑO
SOME 20 pregnant women who were considered ‘nutritionally at risk’ received prenatal care from the ‘Alagang Healthy Dagupeño’ program of Mayor Belen Fernandez in barangay Bonuan Boquig on May 31 in support of her ‘First 1,000 Days of Life’ program.
Each one received Enfama milk supplements, oats, misua, Lucky Me noodles, Skyflakes, Fita and other freebies from CSI Group of Companies and freshly-picked kangkong and pechay from the barangay’s Urban Community Garden that utilizes hydroponics technique in coordination with the City Agriculture Office. The City Nutrition Office also provided vitamins and dietary supplements to ensure adequate maternal nutrition and prevent childhood stunting as a result of malnutrition. (Dagupan CIO News)

SENIOR CITIZENS RECEIVE SOCIAL PENSION
MAYOR Belen Fernandez joins elderly Dagupeños on May 31 at the City Plaza during the scheduled payout of their 6,000 social pension (SOCPEN) from the Department of Social Welfare and Development. The four-day SOCPEN distribution which started on May 28 covered the months of January to June this year and includes the P500 monthly increase which makes a total of 1,000 pesos pension per month.
According to the Office of Senior Citizens Affairs, some 5,575 elderlies in Dagupan are beneficiaries of the SOCPEN which serves as their monthly stipend for daily subsistence and medical needs. Republic Act 11916 has provided for the increase of the monthly SOCPEN amount. (Dagupan CIO Photo)
