THE work on the construction of the sidewalks along the road elevation & drainage upgrade on AB Fernandez Ave., including the drainage connections of business establishments to the main drainage system are almost done. DPWH Project Engineer I Chriselda Nicer at City Engineering Office led by City Engineer Josephine Corpuz advised establishment owners to make sure that the elevation of their drainage has the same exact elevation as the city’s new system to avoid incidence of “back flow”. Work on the AB Fernandez intersection was completed on March 15. (Dagupan CIO News)

DAGUPEÑOS WITH CATARACT, PTERYGIUM SERVEDBY MBTF’S EYE PROGRAM
MORE than 60 patients with eye problems received specialized medical intervention on March 17 by the ‘Alagang Healthy Dagupeño’ program of Mayor Belen T. Fernandez in partnership with the Buddhist Tzu Chi Eye Center located in Sta. Mesa, Manila. The patients, mostly senior citizens who have no means for eye medical treatment, received cataract and pterygium treatment via surgery courtesy of Dr. Antonio Say, Dr. Bernaditha Navarro, Dr. Catherine Macaraig and Dr. Susan Lim. This health program of Mayor Fernandez serves UN’s Sustainable Development Goal #3: Good Health and Wellbeing; and #17: Partnerships for the Goals of the United Nations. (Dagupan CIO News)

CITY POPULATION OFFICE HOLD LECCTUES FOR TEENS, STUDENTS
THE City Population Office (CPO) conducted lectures on Adolescent Health and Development Program of Dagupan City at the Carael National High School for 60 participants on March 7 about ‘Kababaihan, Liwanag ng Kinabukasan’ program of the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Council led by John Patrick de Vera, SK President. Lectures on ‘Lipunang Patas sa Bagong Pilipinas: Kakayahan ng Kababaihan, Patutunayan’, were delivered by City Population Officer Malen Bernadette Pilon and Population Program Officers I (PPO) Crista Marie Pulo at Althea Rei Ugaban. The lecture covered topics on HEART (HIV basics, Early sexual encounter, Adolescent sexuality, Reproductive health and Teenage pregnancy). Meanwhile, 62 immersion students and on-the-job trainees from the Dagupan City National High School, Pugaro Integrated School, St. John’s Cathedral School, Lyceum Northwestern University, University of Pangasinan and Systems Technology Institute attended similar lectures at the Teen Center on the Women’s Month and orientation on adolescent health and development programs by PPO III Irene Oreta.
