MBTF COMMENDS CITY AWARDEES

MAYOR Belen Fernandez commended the recent achievements of two successful individuals in public service, Ashok Vasandani, a renowned philanthropist in Dagupan; and Jocelyn Siapno, manager of the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) and presented their awards during the regular flag raising ceremony the City Plaza on March 18.

Dr. Vasandani received his Honoris Causa degree from the Maryland State University in USA  for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Humanity; and an award as an Inspirational Educator from the Cluster of Achievers in Bangkok, Thailand.

DAGUPAN CITY PUBLIC LIBRARY, HALL OF FAME AWARDEE

THE Dagupan City Public Library and Information Center earned the Hall of Fame Award during the 6th Gawad Pampublikong Aklatan (GPA) Awarding Ceremonies held last March 22 at the National Library of the Philippines (NLP) as part of the celebration of the 65th Public Library Day. Vice Mayor Bryan Kua, Councilor Dennis Canto and Dagupan City Public Library Officer-in-Charge Marilyn Caguioa received the award from the NLP and The Asia Foundation in cooperation with the Department of Interior and Local Government and the Philippine Information Agency.  The city library clinched the coveted Hall of Fame after garnering 36 major awards from the NLP and other institutions from 2014 to 2023. OMBUDSMAN CONDUCTS STUDY ON DAGUPAN’S BEST PRACTICES

THE Public Assistance and Corruption Prevention Bureau (PACPB) under the Office of the Ombudsman recently conducted a study on the best practices and service standards of the Dagupan City government on March 18 and 19 to ensure the propriety and accountability of its different offices. PACPB Director Atty. Alan Canares said the  study includes the standard of service used by each office as mandated by the Citizen’s Charter; statistics on the issuance of permits and business establishments; ordinances; tax code; feedback of clients on service delivery, among others.  The team visited the One-Stop Business Center, City Engineering Office, City Assessor’s Office, City Treasurer’s Office, City Planning and Development Office and the Bureau of Fire Protection.  (Dagupan CIO News)
