DAGUPAN STARTS ‘NO SEGREGATION, NO COLLECTION’ OF TRASH

BARANGAY residents are consciously working under the spirit of bayanihan anew as they begin implementing the waste segregation scheme for ‘Goodbye Basura’, the city government’s newest waste management in partnership with Holcim Philippines, a global supplier of cement and aggregates, that seeks to clear Dagupan’s more than 60-year-old dumpsite in Tondaligan, Bonuan Gueset.

Under ‘Goodbye Basura’, Mayor Belen Fernandez said color-coded bins will be positioned at strategic locations in the barangays and market areas for efficient separation of wastes”: BLUE for biodegradables/food waste, RED for hazardous waste, ORANGE for bottles/ metals, and GREEN for HOLCIMABLE that can be readily transported to Holcim’s manufacturing plant.

Barangays Pantal, Barangay II and III, Carael, Lasip Chico, Bolosan, Bonuan Gueset, Bonuan Binloc, Mangin, Malued, Barangay IV and PGBI Guardians have displayed their staunch support to the ‘No Segregation, No Collection’ policy in close coordination with the Waste Management Division, Market Division, Task Force Anti-littering and Tondaligan Park Administration. BANGUS PROCESSING FACILITY, OPERATIONAL NA!

THE brand new blast freezer for bangus growers provided by the Department of Trade and Winrock International to the city can already be used while the Shared Service Facilities (SSF) that can help create jobs and provide assistance to small business operations.

As the “Bangus Capital of the World”, Dagupan must begin to use new technology to help market as “Certified Dagupan Bangus” products. In addition, to the blast freezer, retail bangus retailers can already use (4) aircon units, six (6) stainless steel tables, and 50 ice boxes.

Mayor Belen Fernandez recalled that in 2018, Dagupan City was cited as BEST PERFORMING SSF PROJECT SA BUONG PANGASINAN IN REGION I and pressed confidence that the city can duplicate that feat with a host of new partners in DTI Regional Dir. Grace Falgui-Baluyan, DTI Provincial Dir. Natalia B. Dalaten and Belyn R. Wodehouse, Chief of Party, B-SAFE Project Winrock International.  We are blessed, the mayor said. (Dagupan CIO News)

‘SAVING MAX’ LAUNCHED IN MAMALINGLING, 124 PETS RECEIVE FREE VACCINES!

OWNERS of 124 pet dogs and cats in Barangay Mamalingling were delighted to see their pets vaccinate for free by the ‘Saving Max’ program of Mayor Belen Fernandez spearheaded by the City Veterinary Office to promote animal welfare.

City Veterinary Officer-in-Charge Dr. Daniel Garcia said the free services included anti-rabies vaccination, anti-tick and flea injection, mange (galis) and antibiotics.  (Dagupan CIO News)
