Alaminos City inaugurates its Balay Silangan
THE Alaminos City government inaugurated its Balay Silangan Drug Reformation Center, the 10th in the province.
Led by City Mayor Arth Bryan Celeste, the inauguration was attended by Seymoure Darius Sanchez, PDEA R1 Assistant Regional Director; Maria Angela Gopalan, DSWD Regional Director; Virgilio Sison, DILG Pangasinan Provincial Director; and P/Col Jeff Fanged, PNP Pangasinan Provincial Director.
The Alaminos City ‘s center is the 47th Balay Silangan facility in Region I.
Balay Silangan is a reformation house for individuals who have engaged in illicit drug use and who voluntarily surrendered to the authorities and opted to be beneficiaries of plea bargain agreement with the Court.
According to Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region I, some 1335 drug surrenderees have completed Balay Silangan’s drug reformation program, 718 of them have graduated and 617 currently undergoing the program. (Kim Gealogo)
