CITY EYES LOWER ANIMAL BITES IN ‘PREVENT RABIES’ CAMPAIGN

TO facilitate treatment of Dagupeños bitten by dogs and other animals, the city’s Animal Bite Treatment Center services are extended from 7a.m. to 3p.m. This was announced by Mayor Belen as she reminded pet owners of their responsibility if their pets bite people.

She added that she is coordinating with the ‘Task Force Disiplina’ for the strict implementation of the Artikulo 21 and directed the City Veterinary Office of the city government’s target to decrease the number of animal bite cases. (Dagupan CIO News)

DOLE DISTRIBUTES 30 NEGOSTALLS.

THIRTY residents will be selected to receive Negostalls from the Department of Labor and Employment. The DOLE program is about owning the stalls, while the city government  will provide financial assistance to enable them to start their businesses.

Prospective beneficiaries will be from ONE BONUAN (Gueset, Boquig & Binloc), and will operate at the Tondaligan Beach and will sell products that are known to be popular with visitors, beach goers and locals.

Qualified to apply are self-employed, solo parents, senior citizens.

The program will be supervised by PESO Manager Joy Siapno, Eric Gaerlan, DOLE CPFO Supervising Labor and Employment Officer; City Engineer Josephine Corpuz, City Market Division OIC Judy Narvasa and Tondaligan Park Administrator Albert Gregorio. (Dagupan CIO News)

426 GUAVA FARMERS AT FISHERFOLKS ARE TUPAD BENEFICIARIES

SOME 426 additional beneficiaries of Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Displaced/ Disadvantage Workers (TUPAD) in Dagupan were selected for the program.

According to Mayor Belen Fernandez, the beneficiaries are from the agriculture and aquaculture industry, particularly coastal small fishermen and guava farmers (guapple farmers) in eastern barangays.

The program was brought to Dagupan by AGRI Partylist Representative Wilbert Lee.

Earlier, among TUPAD beneficiaries were solo parents, tricycle drivers, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, jeepney drivers, market vendors and boat operators.

According to the Employment Services Office (PESO) Dagupan, the aim of the program is to provide emergency employment to the unemployed, displaced, and distressed worker  without regular jobs and often paid below minimum wage.

Every TUPAD worker receives P400 daily or P4,000 pesos for 10 days providing community service.  (Dagupan CIO News)
