SOME 38 micro rice retailers in Dagupan received P15,000 in cash each on September 27 at the City Plaza as part of the Economic Relief Subsidy of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. thru the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Social Welfare and Development and Department of Interior and Local Government following the implementation of the mandated price ceiling on rice. Mayor Belen Fernandez sought the support of the entrepreneur-recipients to maintain the price cap on their products to help  counter the rising prices of rice  for consumers’ sake. She previously joined the local DTI, City Agriculture Office and City Market Division during the conduct of price monitoring operations of rice retailers in the city  on September 5 (Dagupan CIO News).

DAGUPAN JOINS LAUNCHING OF PHIL. PLAN OF ACTION FOR NUTRITION

THE Dagupan City government led by Acting Mayor Bryan Kua, representing Mayor Belen Fernandez, participated in the Luzon launch of the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN) 2023-2028 on September 20 at the Manila Hotel.  According to National Nutrition Council (NNC) Assistant Secretary and Executive Director Azucena Dayanghirang, the event aims to convene nutrition stakeholders in the national and local levels to impart and identify their respective roles and contributions to the achievement of PPAN goals and targets including its implementation, monitoring and evaluation. BONUAN GUESET’S KATROPA GETS ORIENTATION FROM CITY POPULATION OFFICE

THE members of the Kalalakihang Tapat sa Responsibilidad at Obligasyon sa Pamilya (KATROPA) in Barangay Bonuan Gueset recently attended the orientation program of the City Population Office, to support the government’s responsible parenthood program of Mayor Belen Fernandez.

Among the topics discussed by City Population Officer Malen Pilon and Katropa Focal Person Jerome Espeleta were family planning, free mass wedding, legitimation, mapping of pregnant women/teenagers and referral to other agencies for needed social services. Also present were Barangay Administrator Herculano Ramos Jr. representing Barangay Captain Manuel Bumanglag, KATROPA Dagupan President Roberto Salayog and KATROPA Bonuan Gueset President Servillano dela Cruz Jr. (Dagupan CIO News)
