MAYOR Belen Fernandez was profuse in thanking everyone who selflessly volunteered to help Dagupeños in dire need of help in the middle of the calamity that hit the city, particularly at the height of the severe flooding caused by Typhoon Egay. She cited the employees of the city government, national government agencies, volunteers from the  private sector who helped in relief and rescue operations, 24/7.

She cited the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Public Alert Response and Monitoring Center, Public Order and Safety Office, City Health Office, City Nutrition Office, City Engineering Office, General Services Office, City Social Welfare and Development Office, City Legal Office, Human Resources Office, City Agriculture Office, Development Management Office, City Astrodome and Waste Management Division, and City Information Office.

She thanked BFP, PNP, DSWD, DILG, DOH, Embassy of People’s Republic of China thru Consul and Head of Post, Ren Faquiang; Dagupan Filipino-Chinese Musical Association Inc. and the Filipino Chinese Amity Club, Inc. Pangasinan Chapter, Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce thru George Chua Cham; Rotary Club of Makati; Unilab Foundation; Senate Spouses/Philippine College of Surgeons – Northern Luzon Chapter; Rotary Club of Dagupan; Dagupan Doctors Villaflor Memorial Hospital; SM Foundation; Gardenia, Mama Pina’s Products; Grand 88 Gaming Corporation, PCSO Authorized Agent Corporation – Pangasinan; Pacific Paint Boysen Philippines Inc.; Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Association of the Philippines Cares; Office of Civil Defense thru Regional Director Gregory Cayetano; Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council Augmentation Rescue team thru Col. Those who sent immediately relief goods were Congressman Christopher de Venecia; Congressman Eskimo Estrella (ABONO Partylist) Governor Ramon Guico III and Vice Gov. Mark Lambino for their  ‘Zero Hunger’ program for barangays and dredging operations.

She acknowledged the efforts of the barangay captains, barangay council, barangay frontliners, i.e., nurses, barangay health workers, barangay nutrition scholars, barangay service point officers, barangay tanods and other volunteers who collaborated with Vice Mayor Bryan Kua and SP members Michael Fernandez, Jeslito Seen, Dennis Canto, Marcelino Fernandez, Joshua Bugayong, former Councilors Karlos Reyna, Tess Coquia, and Atty. DAGUPAN ARTISTS UNITE TO RAISE FUND FOR DISASTER VICTIMS

A community of artists collaborated to raise fund for disaster victims by selling their paintings and organizing a ‘party for a cause’ in Hey x Youth Bar and Restaurant last August 7.

The proceeds of the project, “Rise Up DagTown”, were used to provide relief packs and some essentials for evacuees at East Central Elementary School composed 50 families from Barangay Herrero-Perez and Mayombo area. (Dagupan CIO News)
