MAYOR Belen Fernandez recently inspected the ongoing upgrading of road and drainage system and did a follow-up consultation with business owners on Arellano St. She proceeded to Sitio Riverside, Brgy. Pantal for a dialogue with residents living by the Arellano creek about the planned installation of sheet pile wall along the creek for the residents’ protection and the needed dredging of the Patugkawan River, Brgy Pantal for the long term solution to the perennial flood in the area.

She was accompanied by  DPWH Region 1 Project Engineer III Amy Zamudio, Engr. Chriselda Nicer, Project Engineer I and City Engineer Josephine Corpuz to help discuss the technical issues involved in the project.

ALAGANG HEALTHY DAGUPEÑO: FREE MEDICAL SERVICES CONDUCTED IN PANTAL

ELDERLY citizens and other residents of Barangay Pantal avail of free medical services offered by the Alagang Healthy Dagupeño program of Mayor Belen Fernandez on July 4, 2023 to bring government services closer to Dagupeños.

Services include medical consultations; laboratory tests such as blood sugar, cholesterol, blood uric acid, hemoglobin and blood typing; pneumococcal vaccine; and X-ray services provided by doctors, nurses, medical technologists and allied professionals under the City Health Office.

Nutritious snacks were distributed by the City Nutrition Office while eye check-up was conducted by Siapno-Tada Optical that also included free reading glasses courtesy of generous kabaleyans abroad.

Mayor Fernandez also announced another round of medical mission in Dagupan City in coordination with the University of Santo Tomas Medical Missions on July 8 at the West Central Elementary School I that will include minor operations, circumcision, medical consultations and medicines all for free.  (Dagupan CIO News)

FIRE SAFETY TECHNIQUES SHARED DURING BATANG LISTO: THE LITTLE FIREMAN’S PLAYHOUSE LAUNCH

MAYOR Belen Fernandez underscored the importance of having a presence of mind, to be alert  in times of fire or earthquake among children during the launch of the ‘Batang Listo: The Little Fireman’s Playhouse’ program ng Bureau of Fire Protection–Dagupan City Fire Station (BFP – DCFS) on  July 3, 2023 at the CSI Atrium. Under the theme ‘Sa Pag-Iwas sa Sunog, Hindi Ka Nag-iisa!’, the program seeks to familiarize communities with fire prevention, fire suppression, fire investigation, rescue and medical services of BFP. It enables young people to learn fire-fighting skills, rescue techniques, fire safety techniques and showcase of fire-fighting equipment together with BFP personnel.

Mayor Belen was accompanied by Acting Provincial Fire Marshal CINSP Rolando Perez, City Local Government Operations Officer Royolita Rosario, Dagupan City Fire Marshal CINSP Michael John Escaño and City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Ronald de Guzman.  (Dagupan CIO News)
