THE preparation for the 2024 priority projects and the six (6) years of Comprehensive Development Plan had started as support for the city’s education program and development.
The recent meeting was very timely because the city has to make sure that the schools’ needs are addressed and supported. In that meeting were DepEd Schools Division Office headed by Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Rowena Banzon and Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Marciano Soriano Jr., National Association of Public Secondary School Heads Inc. (NAPSSHI), Public Elementary School Principals Association (PESPA), Federated Parent Teachers Association (FPTA), Executive Assistant Luz de Guzman, City Engineer Josephine Corpuz and City Treasurer Randolf Ubando.

EMPLOYMENT WHILE ON VACATION
THE Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES) is a good opportunity for our poor students. Similar to our #SummerJob, it is a joint project with DOLE, managed by the city‘s Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Dagupan. A SPES beneficiary will receive P10,810 salary: 60% P6,486.00 from the city government/ 40% P4,324.00 from DOLE and the student can use it to enroll in next semester and other needs.

LAUNCHING OF HAPAG FOR COMMUNITY GARDENING
MAYOR Belen Fernandez facilitates the turnover of seed packs and seedlings during the regional ceremonial launching of the Halina’t Magtanim ng Prutas at Gulay (HAPAG) of the Department of the Interior and Local Government on June 5, 2023 at Barangay Tebeng in support of the food sustainability initiatives of President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. She was joined by Vice Mayor Bryan Kua and Sangguniang Panlungsod members Jeslito Seen, Michael Fernandez and Marcelino Fernandez; City Local Government Operations Officer Royolita Rosario; City Agriculture Officer-in-Charge Patrick Dizon; Barangay Captains Helen Fermill (Tebeng), Filipina delos Santos (Malued), Calvin Cayabyab (Mamalingling), Armando Capito (Lasip Grande) and Ferdinand Lamsen (Salisay); department heads and barangay nutrition scholars.
The HAPAG aims to strengthen the capacities of barangays towards sustainable agriculture initiatives such as community gardening where households and communities are encouraged to produce fresh, healthy and affordable fruits and vegetables from their backyards and vacant areas. (Dagupan CIO Photo)
