38 COUPLES JOIN ‘1ST BEACH MASS WEDDING’ IN TONDALIGAN

MAYOR Belen Fernandez presided over the mass wedding ceremony for 38 couples from different barangays in the city, billed as the first BEACH MASS WEDDING IN TONDALIGAN, last June 18, at the Tondaligan Beach.  The ‘Diyamanteng Kasalan’ was an activity to celebrate the  75th Year Diamond Jubilee Anniversary of Dagupan.  The oldest couple was Ruben Malicdem Perez, 59 years old and his bride Erlie Cervantez Queroz, 51, from Barangay Poblacion Oeste, while the couple who lived together for 28 years before they decided to get married were Michael Olores Bautista, 54, and Filipina Tugade Casiano, 55, from Barangay Tapuac. ‘KATAPATAN AT GALING SA UNLISERBISYO’ AWARDEES

THE Dagupan City government cited the services rendered by volunteer-partners in Mayor Belen Fernandez’s “Katapatan at Galing sa Unliserbisyo” program during the 75th Year Diamond Jubilee Anniversary of the City Charter of Dagupan.  She named the Barangay Health Workers (BHW), Barangay Nurses, Barangay Service Point Officers (BSPO), Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS), Barangay Tanods, Barangay Librarians, OFW Focal Persons, and Job-Order employees at the city government and with the Punong Barangays. Mayor Belen said, “Dahil pinili ninyong samahan ako na IYALAGEY SU BALEY, asahan ninyo hindi ko kayo iiwanan at pababayaan…ipinapangako ko at inuulit kong muli sa lahat ng ating mga barangay volunteers at job order employees — IPAGLALABAN KO ANG INYONG KARAPATAN TUMANGGAP NG SAPAT NA BENEPISYO MULA SA LUNGSOD NA TAPAT NINYO PINAGLILINGKURAN.” (Dagupan CIO News)

HEALTH PROGRAM FOR SENIOR CITIZENS

MAYOR Belen Fernandez’s “Alagang Healthy Dagupeño” program for senior citizens in the city  was further explained by Dr. Ophelia Rivera, City Health Officer, to ensure that all the senior citizens are well cared for. The program allows senior citizens to have free access to medical check-up, laboratory tests (Blood sugar, Cholesterol, uric acid, hemoglobin, blood typing),

pneumococcal vaccine, feeding, eye check-up and free eyeglasses at the Siapno-Tada Optical. The program is headed by Dr. Dante Samonte. (Dagupan CIO News)
