Mayor Belen takes her oath June 30
TEAM BELEN DURING PROCLAMATION
MAYOR Belen Fernandez will mark her return to Dagupan City Hall when she takes her oath as the city’s new mayor on June 30 at CSI Stadia in Barangay Lucao.
Presiding Judge Genoveva Maramba of Branch 44 in Dagupan City will swear in Mayor Fernandez and her running mate Vice Mayor Bryan Kua and Councilors Jeslito Seen, Dennis Canto and Michael Fernandez.
Her return to the mayoralty office is considered a milestone having won over incumbent Mayor Brian Lim by 14,457 votes, the biggest margin of victory posted by a challenger in Dagupan to a sitting mayor.
The inaugural is expected to be attended by Fernandez’s supporters from all 31 barangays of Dagupan, irrespective of political color.
She promised to open the Dagupan City Diagnostic Center after it was mothballed for three years by the Lim administration particularly at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in the city.
She also vowed to make Dagupan rise again not only as the fastest developing city but also the richest and the most dynamic city in Region 1.
Dagupan became a ‘billionaire city’ during her previous rein. (Leonardo Micua)
