
Former city beauty queen dies in road mishap
THE former Binibining Dagupan 2020 first-runner up winner died from injuries she sustained in a vehicular accident inĀ Barangay San Luis, Pugo town in La Union on March 21.
Alyssa Mae De Guzman from Barangay Salapingao, Dagupan City, a graduating student from the University of Luzon, died last Thursday March 24.
The bus was heading south going to Manila while the Innova was headed northbound to Baguio City.
In a police report provided by P/Lt. Col. Abubakar Mangelen Jr, Police Regional Office 1 information officer, it said that on March 21, a collision happened between a Yutong bus with plate number NDJ4959 driven by Arnel Meligrito, 46, a resident of Tubao, La Union, and a Toyota Innova with plate number IAB 7957 driven by Ryan Piolo Tandoc, 22, student and a resident of Lingayen town.
The bus hit the left side portion of the Innova when the latter crossed the road that injured its driver and five passengers, namely Max Francis Madado, 21, student, from Barangay Estanza, Lingayen, Pangasinan; Deseree Joy Manlongat, 22, student, from, Malasiqui; Hide Aki Sakaamoto, 21, student, Dagupan City; Alyssa Mae de Guzman, 22, and Fenny Rose Balansa, 22 of Bugallon town.
They were rushed to Rosario District Hospital in La Union while their driver who was initially stuck at the steering wheel of their vehicle was brought to La Union Medical Center in Agoo.
The bus driver and his passengers were unhurt. (Eva Visperas)
